blog in felt, doesn’t everyone?
November 28th, 2007
Namaste, ciao and welcome to my blogosphere. You may guess from these pages that I am crazy for two things at the moment, felt, yes you read correctly felt, the woolly stuff the Mongolians make their yurts from, and that most seductive, frustrating, dusty and charming of countries, India.
I had a lot of fun this winter 08 experimenting with reversible jackets in felt and making wild spiky scarves …..check out my video (thanks to Karla for modelling )

India Flint eco designer extraordinaire
In June this year I took part in a wonderful eco-dyeing workshop with India Flint in Canberra organised by Bonnie Begg. Everyone took along at least 4 items of clothing in natural materials such as linen, cotton, silk or wool that could be re-deployed! Jumpers were turned inside out and upside down and shirts had their sleeves cut off and buttons re-assigned - the limit was your imagination. After we had sewn like crazy people for a day or so the fun began boiling up eucalyptus leaves of all kinds and boiling our creations in the brew. Some of the results were stunning, a turquoise silk skirt became the most stunning coppery colour, a pale pink non-descript cardigan became the most beautiful russet…
